Problem with MSI Claw controls not lit up / detected

Read Time:1 Minute, 15 Second

If you are having problems with your MSI Claw not detecting the controls after resuming from hibernation, or the buttons are not lit up, then follow the instructions below.

After resuming / starting up my console, sometimes I find the controls are not lit up (this seems to mean they are not detected). Occasionally the vibration pulses 3 or 4 times, and they then light up / are detected. Other times, it seems the MSI Claw does not even try to detect the controls. Im not sure why this problem exists and persists across firmware and software updates.

What I do to get the controls working and light up:

  1. Press the MSI button (on the left of the screen, second/bottom button)
  2. This opens the MSI Center application. Click on the console icon on the bottom of the screen (second from the left)
  3. Click on Gamepad Mode
  4. This seems to start the detection process, and after a few vibration pulses, it should light up and start working
  5. Close the MSI Center application
